A small selection of photos taken in and around the Red Zone in Christchurch. I started the gallery using photos I took on July 30th, after the snow fall, and then added ones that I had taken from March to June, which included two visits inside the Red Zone.
While it is sad to see such destruction - and many of the buildings shown are have since been demolished - the greater sadness is the plight of so many Christchurch people who still live in a limbo of housing, jobs, and whose close friends or family members died as a result of the earthquake. It is now 11 months since the first shake - but the ripples continue, both literally and figuratively.
